Tara & Matt – Engaged – Nashville & Lebanon, TN Wedding Photographer

Where do I even start with this post?!  This amazing couple was referred to me by not 1, but 2 of my beautiful couples from this year!  I just love referrals because I know it means they’re awesome (and have awesome friends)!  They booked without meeting me, but we set their engagement session up quickly to take advantage of some fall surroundings, and thankfully Mother Nature held out and some stuck around into November!!!  However, apparently, luck wasn’t on my side the day of our session.  First off, this time change and picking my son up every day is really creating a troublesome situation for afternoon sessions.  I have to rush, rush, rush to get to sessions just to have about an hour to shoot before the light is completely gone!  In addition to that, I had a wreck in my BRAND NEW VAN RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM!!!!  It resulted in a flat tire that Matt so graciously offered to change…prior to me taking their photos!  Yes, he had to get dirty right before!  If that’s not the worst way to make an impression on a couple, I’m not sure what is!  To my credit, I still stick to the fact that it wasn’t my fault, but that doesn’t really matter right now!  On top of that, my husband was calling me negotiating an offer on the house we’re buying in the middle of it. I was just a little bit stressed to say the least!!!

So…. the fact that we were only going to have about an hour to shoot and then we had to wait on the cops for 30+ minutes and then wait for them to write their reports, etc. means that by the time we started shooting we had about 10 minutes of light!  We met on Vanderbilt’s campus, which is simply beautiful, and maybe even more amazing at this time of day as the lights started coming on, etc.  We shot until there literally was zero light and thankfully, Tara and Matt (as predicted) were awesome and at ease.  I cannot thank you two enough for your understanding, patience, and general amazingness :)!!!!  I’m so excited to be a part of your big day!!!
