To Find a Cure – Lebanon, Tn Photographer

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a sneak peek to a family I’ve known for quite some time.  At the time I held off from posting any of the following pictures because I wanted to make sure I had permission first.  As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve known this sweet girl all the days of her life.  I worked with her daddy while she was just a baby bump, helped plan a baby shower for her, visited her at the hospital right after she was born, danced with her at my wedding just before she was a year old, and have attended many birthday parties since.

Shortly after her 3rd birthday, Reese was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes.  I remember that day and that phone call from a mutual friend all too well.  I was scared for her and her family, and what the future might hold.  I remember visiting her at the hospital during those first few days, unsure of what to expect and how she’d handle her new normal.  Fast forward a few years to now.  She’s a smart, spunky 7 year old that’s determined to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.  She honestly amazes me.  While I live each year, dreading 1 stinkin’ flu shot for my kids, she endures numerous finger pricks and insulin shots each day.  It makes everything else pale in comparison.  At the end of her session, I captured a small bit of what her daily routine consists of.  She does this multiple times each day and still comes out with a smile.

Each year, Reese in her family participate in JDRF’s Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes.  This year’s walk is right around the corner.  I know that they hope and pray every day that they WILL find a cure so this will no longer be a part of their daily schedules.  If these photos touch you the way they did me, and you are able to donate something to their team, I know they would be so grateful!!  To donate, click HERE and select “Donate to this Walker”.  Any amount would be appreciated.

Thank you!!

Chesley
