Riverwood Mansion Wedding – Nashville, TN Wedding Photographer – Andrea & Drew

I’ve spent the past few days in Atlanta at Jasmine Star’s workshop.  It was fabulous, just as I expected, but she may or may not have called me out for not updating my blog in 2 whole months!!  I will share more about the workshop (hopefully) in the near future, but for now let’s talk about weddings!!!  It’s been a busy wedding season, and I can’t wait to share them all with you!  I’m skipping ahead today to Andrea & Drew’s May wedding that was held at Riverwood Mansion in Nashville, TN.

For those of you that may not know, this wedding is super special to me because Drew is my brother!  He and Andrea first met at one of those crazy muddy, obstacle course races a few years ago, and the rest is history as they say!  I have 3 younger brothers, but Drew is the closest in age to me.  Watching him grow into a man, and now a husband has made me more than proud.  He definitely isn’t afraid to pull out all the stops when it comes to wooing his girl!  He impresses me daily with all of the special things he does for Andrea, and I’ve even joked that he might need to give my husband a few pointers!  He proposed at the Top of the Rock in New York City over Labor Day weekend and then they moved forward planning for the May 30th nuptials!  Since I don’t have any sisters of my own, I never thought I would really get to be involved in planning another wedding (until Claire gets married of course), but I was lucky enough to be included in all of the fun parts of planning their wedding from dress shopping to catering tastings!  I am so grateful to them for making me feel included and asking my opinion on certain things, including the venue!  Riverwood Mansion is one of my absolute favorite spots in Nashville.  It’s so classic and unbelievably beautiful, not to mention full of amazing spots for photos!!  I was giddy when they chose it as their venue!!

Then came the time when Drew asked me how I planned to photograph the wedding AND be in it?!  Well, ummmmm…that doesn’t really work.  SO, I devised a plan that WOULD work!  I shot their engagement photos, as well as Andrea’s bridal portraits.  When it came to shooting the big day, I couldn’t just not shoot, so I helped shoot getting ready, first look, portraits of them before and after the wedding, and then some of the reception, and now I’m the one editing all of them :)!  I called on Rebecca Walker to take the lead as the main shooter and then for the ceremony and first parts of the reception, I had Chelsey come help out as well.  I will say that letting go and just being in the bridal party / family was tough, but honestly, it was the best of both worlds!!!  I’m so grateful to my friends and the role they played in making Andrea and Drew’s wedding dreams come true!!  AND, I’m elated to finally have a sister!!  I can’t wait to see what the years ahead will bring them!  Here’s just a small glimpse into their wedding day, but be sure to click on the link to their slideshow at the end if you’d like to see more!!  Oh yeah, and that flower girl…she’s all mine :)!  So is the (not so) littlest groomsman dancing fool :)!!
